Operation

The Satellite Gateway for our Dual Connect scale is the ultimate solution for areas not covered by terrestrial communication networks (white zones). The gateway allows any Dual-Connect connected scale to be transformed into a Satellite scale. Utilizing the ECHOSTAR MOBILE satellite, the Satellite Gateway does not experience any white zones, covering all of Europe*. The operation of the gateway is completely transparent, and all the functionalities of the scale are preserved.

  • Thanks to its integrated antenna, installing the Satellite Gateway is very simple; just place the box on the roof of the hive and orient it towards the south. The box is equipped with a magnetic mounting system to hold it securely in place.
  • The satellite gateway works with the basic subscription of the scale. No additional subscription cost.
  • The satellite gateway is not tied to a specific scale; it can be dissociated and associated with another Dual-connect scale at any time.
  • The satellite gateway is compatible with the brood sensor if it is associated with the Dual-connect scale.

The satellite gateway is an accessory of the 'Dual Connect' scale; it works exclusively with the Dual-Connect scale by honeyinstruments!

Installation

Installation is ultra simple; just place the satellite gateway on the roof of the hive, orient the satellite box to the south, and pair the gateway and the scale in the HONEYINSTRUMENTS application. Messages will then be sent to the web server and mobile app via the ECHOSTAR MOBILE satellite.

Warranty

The warranty period is 24 months for parts and labor from the date of delivery. All deteriorations due to non-compliance with usage instructions are excluded from the warranty.
